Human activity causes climate change.

 

    Whether abrupt or gradual, climate change has emerged as one of the most urgent problems of our day. Although Earth's climate has undoubtedly been shaped by natural forces throughout history, human activity is primarily responsible for the environmental changes that are occurring today. The amount of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane in the atmosphere has significantly increased due to the fast industrialization, deforestation, and burning of fossil fuels. Global warming is the term used to describe the warming of the planet caused by these gases' ability to trap heat.

 

        One of the main causes of climate change has been the increase in industrial activity since the 19th century. Massive volumes of carbon dioxide and other pollutants are released when coal, oil, and natural gas are burned in factories, power plants, and automobiles. The Earth's average temperature has dramatically increased as a result of these emissions, changing weather patterns, increasing the frequency of extreme weather events, and melting polar ice caps. To put it simply, carbon emissions from human activity have accelerated climate change much faster than any natural causes could.

 

    The issue has also been made worse by widespread deforestation, mostly for urbanisation and agriculture. Since carbon dioxide is naturally absorbed by trees, their removal results in less CO2 being taken up from the atmosphere, which leaves more of it to contribute to the greenhouse effect. In addition to reducing carbon sequestration, forest destruction increases the harm by releasing stored carbon back into the atmosphere. One of the main causes of the current climate crisis is the cycle of deforestation and rising carbon emissions.

 

        Finally, the effects of climate change are becoming more sudden rather than gradual. Heatwaves, droughts, and heavy rainfall are examples of extreme weather patterns brought on by rising temperatures in some areas. These events have an immediate negative impact on ecosystems and human societies. Coastal regions are also seriously threatened by rising sea levels brought on by ice cap melting. Together, these environmental changes demonstrate how human activity has drastically changed the planet's climate in both abrupt and gradual ways, posing pressing problems that call for quick and on going solutions.
